Knights News · Kelly commits to Columbus State finishes regular season strong

On Tuesday Trey Kelly committed to play golf for Columbus State University.  Kelly stated that after touring the CSU facilities and meeting with the coaches, he fell in love with the place and knew that’s where he wanted to play and continue his education

Trey has just reached the end of his regular season for his senior year, and has set many Upson-Lee golf records.  His competition average score this year was an even par 36, which Coach Oglesbee states is the lowest he’s seen in the 8 years he has been involved with the program that included 12 matches with scores in the 30s.  Kelly was low medalist in the Knight Invitational posting a tournament record setting -3 69.  He was also the low medalist at this year’s Granger Invitational, becoming the first UL golfer to win low medalist in 2 events in the same year.

Now that the regular season is complete, Kelly and the rest of UL golfers will start preparations for the Area Tournament to be held at Forrest Heights CC in Statesboro on May 4th.
